Once we arrived at the location the desert disappeared and the green oasis opened up, it was breathtaking. We arrived around 11am, there may have been 20 people total but the area is pretty large so many times we felt all alone. When you arrive you pay a small fee to a local farmer, you then walk past 3 picnic areas, one with a very cool tree that greets you, and all 3 spots are in the shade so do yourself a favor and pack a lunch or snack and spend time here after you hike.
Once you arrive at the first pool you can climb up or down, down is where the hot spring are which is a small pool of very hot water which even in the Mexico sun feels great. For those wanting a good rock climb go up the mountain, you will find 4 more small pools and a small 20 foot waterfall which we had all to ourselves and were able to dive into the pool form the rock faces and just really enjoy this beautiful location. Overall this may have been my favorite part of our 5-day Mexican vacation, do yourself a favor and check it out!
Easy going out- difficult heading back from the river ponds towards the hot springs. Definitely a wonderful experience - must visit treasure. Incredibly difficult. Be prepared for intense scrambling, advanced route finding.

We trekked counter-clockwise--up and over the hillside first, and there is a good trail to follow; however, the return trip is more of a "find-your-own-route" following the river back to the camp area.
